Packaging Design

When tasked with designing an all-new packaging system for NiteRider’s bike lights, the goal was to create a look that felt both timeless and simple. I led the creative direction across the entire product line, over 20 unique SKUs; ensuring each package stood out on retail shelves while reflecting the quality and durability of the product.

These bike lights are built tough, featuring aluminum heat sinks and reinforced nylon fiberglass housings. The packaging needed to communicate that rugged performance while remaining clean, modern, and consumer-friendly.

Sustainability was also a key focus. I worked to reduce single-use plastics and explored more earth-conscious packaging choices to help lower the overall carbon footprint.

Visually, the front of the packaging remained minimal, featuring a metallic Pantone color with a soft matte finish that subtly shifts sheen when viewed from different angles. On the back, I showcased key features and product specifications through clean typo and iconography, developed in close collaboration with the NiteRider Engineering Department, to ensure accuracy and clarity for the consumer.
